Homophrosyne
A Shinkane eZine
Welcome to Homophrosyne, our Shinkane eZine. As well as being a handy title, it’s also our theme. Homophrosyne references two people who can both think and/or feel alike. Who better to use it for than Psycho-Pass’s own characters Shinya Kogami and Akane Tsunemori? But what you're really here for is linked below. We have our schedule with our timeline, our application guidelines, our FAQs, and some info about your mods. FAQ
Q. So, who can apply?
A. Anyone can apply! We’re looking forward to applications from all artists and writers.Q. May I apply to be a mod?
A. Sure you can! We’ll have mod apps open from 2/14 through 2/28/2026. UPDATE: We now have a full set of mods.Q. How do I apply to be a beta reader?
A. We will take on some writers as beta readers. If you do want to volunteer as a beta, please let us know in your application.Q. So, how will this be released?
A. The release will be digital. The SFW and NSFW zines will go up at the same time & we will provide a link to each. We will also have a Collection posted on AO3 right around the launch date.Q. The zine is free, correct?
A. Yep! Entirely free.Q. Who is running this zine?
A. jediofbooksandsnacks, LucidInk, Nira, and Seven. Diamantrouge will be helping jedi with Editorial and other assorted tasks.Q. Is any zine experience required to apply?
A. None. Two thirds of the mod team is brand new at this too, so let’s figure it out together.Q. Do we accept anything drafted with the help of AI/ChatGPT/etc?
A. No. No, we do not.Q. Will writers and artists retain the rights to their works?
A. Well, we are playing in Production IG’s world. Laws change per country, yes, but in the US we are operating under a fair use doctrine & we all want to keep it that way. (If you are tempted to go down this rabbit hole, look up Anne Rice + fair use.) So, while showing these works to the show’s creators might not be well received, your work—yes, even your fandom work--is your own work. So, all rights should stay with you.Q. Can the contributors post an outtake on their socials?
A. We ask that any contributors please not share any teasers on their socials until after the zine is published. However, we will be posting contributor’s writing and art pieces on our socials as we lead up to publishing the zine itself.Q. I still have more questions! Where can I ask them?
We’d be happy to answer on our socials; links below!
Mods
Editor Mod / Lead Admin
jediofbooksandsnacks watched Psycho-Pass in 2019 and has been living off that sweet, sweet Shinkane yearning ever since. She is a mod of Shinkane Week and has appeared in In Time and In Plain Sight, two previous Psycho-Pass zines. This is her first time putting together & modding a zine.
Blog & Marketing Mod
LucidInk started their Psycho-Pass nosedive in 2015, and has been drawing/writing Shinkane obsessively ever since they watched the unresolved romantic tension that is the first movie. Their #1 goal is to create fanart so sickeningly cute that it makes the viewer throw up.This is their first time working on a zine as a mod, and second zine as an artist!
Art Mod / Cover Artist
Nira watched Psycho-Pass in 2014 and fangirled too hard at Kougami Shinya. She dropped the series after the first movie because she's afraid that this fictional man would give her a heart attack. She put off watching the rest until one year after Providence was released and said movie made her impulsively make an entire account for shipping Shinkane (and more, as it turned out). She has worked on at least four zines before and modded one.
Communications Mod
Seven watched Psycho-Pass in 2013 and has not known a day of peace since. She has run fandom weeks, zines, and doujinshi projects, including both solo books and anthologies. Her most recent project was a Makishima anthology published in early 2026. She is an artist, writer, and human disaster.
Assistant Editorial Mod
Diamantrouge (Artie) has watched Psycho-Pass in 2013 after initial reluctance and has become everyone's problem about it since the airing of Psycho-Pass 2. Mainly a writer and a fanweek runner for other fandoms, they joined the In Time and In Plain Sight Psycho-Pass e-zines. Their latest publication is the comparative literature essay, ”Beyond Justice: Dystopia and Paranoia in Psycho-Pass” (Società Editrice La Torre), a study in the literary and cinematic core of the series.
